This is what I've been working on, although slowly. I've forgotten a lot of CSS, but luckily the template I'm working with has a lot of customizable options. Also, it's really slow right now since I'm not using cache options, which will change eventually. Some features - login/avatars for comments, rotating header (:v), easier navigation, and the shoutbox thing coming in a bit.
The color scheme probably won't remain black and white, though... I'm planning on going with something like this:

My goal here is to make the front page more "portal" like - with a login for commenting on stuff, a shoutbox, that kind of thing. Two sidebars is what I'm going for too to make stuff more accessible.
My only problem right now is getting it to tie into the forums nicely. Ideally, I'd like to have singular usernames and passwords shared between the front page software and the forums, but I don't think it's going to be a practical use of my time to implement that kind of thing.
The header image does rotate, though, and those images are hosted locally. All the rest of the images I use for the posts - screenshots and whatnot, are hosted on Flickr, which is nice since it offloads my bandwidth to another server :v :v :v
Oh and I just now noticed the WoW changes you made to it... damn you Ace. Damn you!
