Lol bear claws, what's up ogie? Anyway, yeah I'm still in PA, in State College, graduated last year, still working as a cook.  Schedule is good for me (night owl still), pay is decent and cost of living isn't bad here at all.  Overall things are pretty decent.

Playing AoC now, Zekk started Underground on Tyranny, a pvp server.  It's buggy still, but I'm pretty confident that it will flesh out into a great game.  WoW was nigh unplayable @ first and it turned out ok.

Btw ogie, I never got into Hellgate:London b/c, well, it didn't turn out that great.

Cool, I played AoC for a bit - oddly enough, on Tyranny, but I just couldn't get into it.  New patches look good, but imo it shouldn't have launched yet.  At least combat isn't all that boring.

PvP penalty system looks interesting - but Funcom should have thought it out first and included such a system in the basic game design.

Ogie and myself are in the Warhammer Online beta right now, hopefully some more people will get in shortly.  Still under the NDA, so not much I can say, but we do have a guild set up for now - http://www.octavariumguild.com - hopefully get a guild up and going right for launch.

That's cool.  I'll be keeping my eye on Warhammer but definitely won't be jumping ship unless it ends up being phenomenal.  The combo system in AoC keeps things interesting and I don't relish the idea of returning to an auto-attack melee system which I think is what will be implemented in WAR, right?

You're probably right about AoC being released early, my guess is that they wanted to get a jump on WAR.  However, just to put things in perspective and take a trip down memory lane, here's this: http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/01/18/news_6116566.html

Also, don't forget about getting our whole raid grp ripped out of MC and split between TM and Stonetalon.  Think it happened to Hammered too b/c I'll swear I was right next to Brangwin when I ended up in TM.  This was like, a year after launch.  Don't get me wrong, I think it would be great if WAR ends up being a very good game, but since I'm invested in AoC I'll be taking a "wait and see" stance with WAR.

Oh yeah, I hope I don't sound like AoC is a bad game, it's not, just wasn't my cup of tea, although agreed on the combat system - it's awesome.  What class did you play?  I had a barbarian at 25ish I think.  Pretty fun.  Plus topless chicks.

I hesitate to compare WAR with WoW or AoC, or AoC with WoW (aside from the PvE aspects, like the compelling story leveling up and what not in both games), or AoC with WAR even - WAR is all about large scale group PvP, AoC isn't on the same scale, so the battles are more about the individual player(s).

Pretty smooth launch though for AoC, I was impressed by that.  I was in the open beta from Fileplanet and was surprised at the changes and stability from beta to release.

I didn't think you were bad mouthing AoC, I was just trying to exemplify my point that MMO's in general have tumultuous launches.  For now, yes the pvp is pretty small scale, we'll see how the siege warfare pans out.  To be honest, I'm just happy to have REAL pvp servers again, not what WoW turned into.

I'm interested to see how WAR is going to handle the large scale stuff.  I'm no technical expert when it comes to networking or computers, but I know there is only so much information that can be processed at once before massive lag and realm crashing sets in.  I would think the raiding would have to be capped out at a certain population.  AoC does it with multiple zone instances.

I played a necromancer to 52 (Meradin) before I rolled my badass, giant sword swinging female Herald of Xotli(Amathera).  She's at 40 right now.  They're a lot of fun to play, though squishy due to the fact that they wear cloth armor.  Sounds bad, I know, but they also hit like trucks.  You've got a small window of opportunity most of the time in pvp with a HoX, but that gives it an interesting dynamic, I think.  I'll get back to my necro at some point but they're still reviewing the class quite a bit and I wanna wait till they're done and see how it turns out.

Ogie, why did you reinstall Hellgate b/c of me? I don't get it.  Explain please.

Btw, how's Spizz, Rakein, and Quetz?

I hear that.  Guild based cities look awesome too, have they started springing up yet?

The hard numbers I haven't seen before, but I think the info on how the pvp works and the zone sectioning was in a past newsletter, can't be too careful though.  There has been some guild v. guild sieges from what I read on the forums, Underground has a few buildings up, zekk has some pics up in the screenshot thread @ ugguild.net.  I'll take some pics later and put em here, for now I have to go to the dentist :(

Ogie, I just wasn't sure what meant :)
